Camille Gravel, a 1931 graduate of Menard Memorial High School, is remembered as one of Louisiana's most influential legal figures. Throughout his distinguished career, Camille was an unwavering advocate for civil rights and played a key role in the advancement of justice across the state. His contributions extended to shaping the political landscape, where he was instrumental in drafting Louisiana’s constitution. Camille also served as an advisor to three Louisiana governors and played a pivotal role in Senator John F. Kennedy’s 1960 presidential campaign.

Camille Gravel passed away in 2005, leaving behind a profound legacy. His enduring impact on Louisiana's legal and political spheres continues to be felt today. As a member of the inaugural class of Distinguished Alumni at Holy Savior Menard, Camille’s legacy of legal excellence, political influence, and commitment to civil rights continues to inspire future generations.
